Adept Solutions strengthens its board as it eyes further overseas opportunities.
Aberdeen-based IT software and services specialist, Adept Solutions, has appointed a new director to its board as it embarks on the next chapter of its ambitious strategic plan.
Raymond McMann has been appointed in a non-executive role as it targets further growth in the European, Middle East and African markets.
With nearly 30 years’ experience within the sector focusing specifically on the development of hydrocarbon accounting software, Raymond was previously Logica’s (now part of CGI) Middle East and Africa CEO and over saw the leading IT and management consultancy’s extensive growth within both regions. He was latterly the company’s VP of its global oil and gas activity.
Raymond has now linked up with Adept Solutions and will look to use his industry knowledge and understanding of both the overseas market and the evolving economic climate to aid the company in its strategic growth plans for both areas.
Richard Alderson, managing director of Adept Solutions, said: “Raymond’s expertise really does speak for itself and we’re delighted to welcome him onto our board of directors; he has already proved in his short time with us that he will be an asset to the company moving forward.
“Raymond’s experience of the European, Middle East and African markets will be essential to us as we look to continue our growth in these regions. Given the current economic climate, the requirement from companies looking to implement hydrocarbon accounting software has altered in recent times and Raymond’s insight into many of the area’s major operators will be beneficial to us.
“At Adept, we’ve set ourselves some ambitious growth targets for the next couple of years and it is developments such as Raymond’s appointment that will stand us in good stead to meet these head on.”
Raymond McMann added: “Linking-up with Adept is an exciting, fresh challenge for me and I’m looking forward to playing a part in its future success.
“Looking specifically at the Middle East and African markets, many of the region’s main operators are now looking at the value to cost ratio for hydrocarbon accounting and this brings new opportunities that we will aim to capitalise on. I’m hopeful that my experience of these markets and my knowledge of the client base within both will be integral to our success in doing this.
“Collectively, we want to help move the company to the next level in terms of size and continued growth and look forward to capitalising on chances within the markets in the months ahead.”
Raymond’s appointment comes after Adept successfully reached project close in two contracts in the Danish and African markets.
Adept’s project with DONG Oil Pipe A/S, which has been delivered in partnership with Accord Energy Solutions, is the company’s first foray into the Danish market.
The company was involved with the implementation of software that accounted for the exportation of hydrocarbons from DONG Oil Pipe’s existing and new customers, located in the Danish and Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Adept has also completed the second phase of its project with a leading independent oil company in Ghana. The project saw the adoption of its tanker scheduling package to manage liftings, with Adept also playing a vital role in ensuring the project met the requirements of the Ghanaian government’s Additional Oil Entitlement (AOE) taxation regime.
Established in 2006, Adept Solutions has a strong international focus, supporting oil and gas clients in Europe, Africa and Asia with its range of production data products and services.
The company’s primary product, Axis, is a flexible hydrocarbon accounting system utilised by operators to provide timely and reliable production data to government, partners and internal consumers.
