In June 2020, Adept Solutions completed the process of moving IGas Energy production allocation infrastructure to the Cloud. IGas Energy, a leading British onshore oil and gas company, has been an Axis user for over 10 years.
This transition allows the IGas team to enjoy additional benefits, including database and application hosting, report server hosting, SQL server database administration, a back-up service, as well as product upgrades and patches.
After using the Axis Cloud App for over 10 months, the Production Performance Manager shared his feedback on the transition, the SaaS performance and the support they have received from the Adept Solutions’ team:
Adept approached IGas in 2019 with a proposal to place our AXIS Production Reporting and Hydrocarbon Accounting program into The Cloud.
At that time IGas were also carrying out a review of AXIS and exploring its functionality and opportunities for improvement, predominate with the way Production was being calculated. Part of the project was to investigate how the data was being used, calculated and processed. In order to enable IGas to have better control, a spreadsheet module was used to carry out most of the calculations. Moving to The Cloud would support this change in functionality and would allow an element of future proofing, as well as realising the benefits of greater flexibility for updating meaningful data.
Transfer to The Cloud was seamless for Production Reporting and Hydrocarbon accounting and whilst we had a small issue with linking data to a program our subsurface team use, both the Adept and IGas teams worked together to resolve this issue in a timely manner.
Since the transfer we have gone on to successfully introduce the new calculating methods for our Southern production fields with a plan to roll-out a similar method across the rest of our business.
Overall, we are very happy with the performance of AXIS in The Cloud and the support we have received.
